What our customers are saying:
This place is a perfect balance of good food, good coffee, and calming ambience. I am not a coffee connoisseur, but their mexican mocha and chocolate hailstone never fail to bring a smile to my face. Yelp Reviewer Jett G.
RJ Gourmet, you are genius. Not only are you not overpriced, but your ice cubes are frozen COFFEE cubes! You’re brilliant and you make me do a gleeful boogie.Yelp Reviewer Kate S.
At RJ you can ask for the V-60, named for the ceramic brewing cone through which your joe will flow. RJ also pours a Mexican mocha made with Mexican chocolate and sources its pastries from Sorrelle Bakery and Cafe in Charlestown. Aaron Kagan of Eater.com
I can highly recommend the Mexican Mocha, a rich, complex cup of energy and warmth, that can be made with soy milk for those of us who can’t eat dairy. This is not the instant coffee/Nestle cocoa mix of your childhood. This is an earthy and empowering grown up drink well worth seeking out. Yelp Reviewer Dorothy W.
All the coffee grinds/beans and machines/devices come from Barismo. So if you love Barismo you’ll love this place. The espressos are certainly some of the stronger, thicker variety I’ve had and tend to lean towards ristrettos. The regular drip coffee, well I suppose it depends on the type of roast you get, but chances are it’s done really well. The Pour Overs are done with the V60 which is my new fav funnel! Yelp reviewer Mike M.
These guys nailed it. Clean space, limited drink menu, nice looking pastries. Kilgore Trout on Chowhound
rj’s is as good as it gets. i look forward to saturday afternoons where i go there sans hubby to have my customary iced coffee sometimes with, sometimes without their great carrot cake. this place is for coffee snobs and for just plain ol’ folks like me that appreciate terrific iced coffee complete with coffee ice cubes. every so often, indulge in a mexican mocha made with taza chocolate which i do appreciate. i can’t even describe how good this mocha is. great playlist in the background to accompany my catching up on magazines and the ny post. Yelp reviewer Dianne W.
This hot new coffeeshop in East Cambridge serves the best damn coffee in the Boston area. Their experienced and friendly baristas are quick to fill you in on the details of their various coffees from Arlington’s Barismo Coffee Roasters, and they stock bags of beans to take home too. Plentiful seating and blazing fast free wifi also make this a great place to settle in with your laptop, and there was an eclectic mix of locals and coffee lovers while I was there. Try the Mexican Mocha, thank me later. Yelp reviewer Peter M.
